SAFE WAY HOME
Safe Way Home is an initiative by Prisoners’ Legal Service formed in 2007 dedicated to assisting prisoners to gain access to gradual release. SWH specialises in parole related matters at a Queensland and Federal level. The program targets disadvantaged prisoners in providing assistance with applying for parole, responding to the Parole Board with submissions and general advocacy in relation to the parole process. SWH assists through prison visits, operating the PLS advice line service, and other forms of communication with our clients. SWH is reliant on a range of University clinics and volunteers as supervised by our team of solicitors. The program also works in partnership with several pro bono legal firms to assist with parole applications.
